What is the Forced Adoption Support Service?

The Forced Adoption Support Service is a free service providing support, advice, case coordination and other support relating to forced adoption practices and effects.

The service was established following the government inquiry and National Apology to people affected by forced adoption policies and practices.

Our team of skilled practitioners are trained in trauma work to support people in dealing with the impacts of forced adoption and to improve their wellbeing.

Who is the Forced Adoption Support Service for?

This service is offered to those who have been affected by forced adoption, including mothers, fathers, adopted people and extended family members. This is a national service, where people can access support in the state they live regardless of which state the adoption took place in.

Where is this service provided?

Forced Adoption Support services are available at our offices in:

Canberra, Wagga Wagga, Goulburn, Cooma, Moruya, Bega, Griffith, Tumut and other outreach locations.
