About the Role

Family Worker, Safer Pathways for Males, funded under the NSW Justice Department is a part time (4 days a week) fixed term position until 30 June 2020 based in RACR Office at Wagga Wagga, NSW.

Reporting to the Family Referral Service Manager, the role of Family Worker for Males is to provide support and advocacy to men who have experienced or are experiencing family and domestic violence, by providing client case management through assessment of needs, risk assessment, referrals, counselling access and support, court support, advocacy and representation at Safety Action Meetings.

To be successful in this role, you are required to possess:

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in social work or other related discipline and/ or relevant experience
  • Excellent observational, advocacy, negotiation, telephone communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage and   interact sensitively with a diverse range of people, particularly men, children and young people and people who have experienced family and domestic violence.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management, case facilitation and coordination, knowledge of local services available to children and their families and men who have experienced family and domestic violence.

Salary & Benefits

The salary on offer is in the range of $72,603.96 to $73,682.46 for fulltime plus superannuation. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), RACR employees also receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities, thus significantly increasing the value of your take-home pay.

According to the RACR Enterprise Agreement, the successful candidate will have access to generous leave provisions, annual leave loading, and special paid leave during annual holiday shutdown period and flexible working arrangements.
