About the Role

Counsellor within our Early Intervention Services (EIS) Program is a part time (22.5 hours per week), ongoing position, operating from RACR Wagga Wagga office.

Reporting to the EIS Program Manager, the Counsellor is expected to provide therapeutic services to families in the form of counselling to couples, individuals, children and young people and families who are seeking improved relationships, or resolution of relationship difficulties.

To be successful in this role, you are required to possess an appropriate tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, or other relevant field, an understanding of broad theoretical approach to relationship counselling, family therapy, practice frameworks applicable to family violence, trauma informed child inclusive practice, crisis intervention models, grief and loss.  The successful applicant needs to have demonstrated experience in delivering relationship counselling, couples and family therapy and counselling to children and young people,  therapeutic group work and educative programs, and ability to work sensitively with vulnerable and diverse communities. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in legislative requirements of mandatory reporting, issues pertaining to substance abuse and mental illness would be an advantage.  

Salary & Benefits

The salary on offer is in the range of $ $72,963.07 to $77,742.57 per annum for fulltime plus superannuation. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), RACR employees also receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities, thus significantly increasing the value of your take-home pay.

According to the RACR Enterprise Agreement, the successful candidate will have access to generous leave provisions, annual leave loading, special paid leave during annual holiday shutdown period and flexible working arrangements.
