About headspace

headspace centres aim to create highly accessible, youth friendly, integrated service hubs that provide evidence based interventions and support to young people aged 12–25 years. The aim is to improve outcomes for young people by addressing the major barriers for service use, and enabling better access to, and engagement in, early intervention services that provide holistic and integrated care.

headspace Wagga Wagga provides young people with access to Allied Health Professionals and community supports to assist young people to access the support they need to develop and maintain the skills and confidence to live healthy and happy lives. headspace Wagga Wagga also engages in community awareness and seeks to develop and implement innovative programs to improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people in the region. Relationships Australia Canberra & Region is the lead agency for headspace Wagga Wagga and is supported by a Consortium.

About the Role

The NewAccess Coach within the headspace program is a full time, ongoing position operating from headspace RACR, Wagga Wagga office in NSW.

In consultation with the Manager, headspace Wagga Wagga, the NewAccess Coach for NewAccess (see will provide brief/low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions to clients with mild to moderate life stressors, depression and/or anxiety. The NewAccess Coach will also link clients with appropriate community networks and refer to other support services (employment, financial or housing assistance, or more intensive therapy services).

To be successful in this role, you are required to possess:

- A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, and/or Occupational Therapy

- Knowledge, experience, understanding and demonstrated passion for, and interest in, the health and welfare issues affecting young people.

- Knowledge of and sensitivity to the mental health needs of young people (12-25 years) and their families to work holistically with young people around mental health, health and wellbeing needs.

Salary & Benefits

The salary on offer is in the range of $66,825.72 to $68,862.56 per annum plus superannuation for full time. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), RACR employees also receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities, thus significantly increasing the value of your take-home pay.

According to the RACR Enterprise Agreement, the successful candidate will have access to generous leave provisions, annual leave loading, special paid leave during annual holiday shutdown period and flexible working arrangements.
