Specialist Family Violence support and prevention

Specialist Family Violence support and prevention is a confidential service for couples or families who are having difficulties managing conflict that may result in hostility, violence or abuse.

Violence can involve a range of negative behaviours which include; shouting, pushing, shoving, breaking or smashing items, verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, economic and emotional control, and isolation.

The Specialist Family Violence support and prevention service designed to help families bring about positive changes within themselves and in their family or home environment.  It focuses on the needs of children living with family conflict.

The Specialist Family Violence support and prevention service provides a range of behaviour change programs and services, including:

  • group programs for men  who use violent and controlling behaviours
  • women with difficulties managing anger and strong emotions
  • Non-violent Resistance: for the parents of young people exhibiting violent and abusive behaviours
  • RAGE – Re-navigating Anger and Guilty Emotions for adolescents.
  • Domestic and Family Violence counselling for couples, individuals or family counselling.
